FROM CALCULATION TO PARTOne continuous model

A cycloidal generator that understands the surrounding machine

Cycloidal reducers are often reduced to a single profile curve. A working drive also needs an eccentric input, ring pins, output pins, clearances, bearings, a shaft and a housing that keep every moving layer aligned.

GearSuite calculates those relationships as one assembly. It checks the generated disc rim, pin engagement, output-hole motion and bearing seats while the exploded view makes the stack readable before any material is cut.

CAPABILITIESUseful engineering detail

What this generator handles.

01

Parametric cycloidal profile

Generate the disc from ring-pin count, pin radius, pitch circle and eccentricity with the correct lobe count and reduction.

02

Multi-disc balancing

Configure one, two or three discs and inspect their phase, axial stack and remaining unbalance.

03

Output mechanism

Size output pins, holes, sleeves and bearing options against their real orbital motion.

04

Bearings and shaft seats

Match catalogue bearings to the eccentric, input, journal and output interfaces with fit-aware geometry.

05

Housing and motor interface

Build enclosure layers, flanges, fasteners and NEMA motor patterns around the reducer.

06

Interactive exploded view

Move continuously from assembled to exploded and isolate individual solids before export.

WORKFLOWFour direct steps

Configure. Inspect. Validate. Export.

  1. 01

    Set ratio and envelope

Choose pin count, eccentricity, pin circle and disc thickness or start from a target ratio.

  2. 02

    Resolve the interfaces

Select bearings, shaft bore, output pins, motor frame and enclosure proportions.

  3. 03

    Validate the stack

Inspect clearances, balance, buildability and every functional layer in 3D.

  4. 04

    Export the reducer

Download individual STL or STEP parts and supported manufacturing sets.

QUESTIONSDirect answers

Cycloidal drives FAQ.

How is the cycloidal reduction ratio calculated?+

For the standard fixed ring-pin arrangement, a disc with one fewer lobe than ring pins produces a reduction based on that tooth-count difference. GearSuite reports the exact direction and output speed for the selected configuration.

Can I generate a complete cycloidal gearbox?+

Yes. The workspace includes the disc, ring pins, eccentric input, output mechanism, bearings, shaft features, housing and motor interface.

Can cycloidal parts be exported as STEP?+

Supported cycloidal solids can be exported through GearSuite’s protected STEP service; STL export is also available for mesh workflows.
